This time, the refrigerator I had been using for over 10 years broke down, so I replaced it with a first-class refrigerator and received a refund of 10% of the purchase price.

■ 1st class home appliance refund recipients
Not everyone gets a 10% refund, and the target is as follows.

■ Class 1 home appliance refund limit
Based on the date the budget is exhausted, you can refund up to 300,000 won within the period.
You can receive all 300,000 won with one appliance, or you can apply for it by dividing it into several appliances.

Example 2) Air conditioner worth 1.7 million won – refund of 170,000 won and remaining 130,000 won

■ How to apply
1. Access the ‘KEPCO High Efficiency Home Appliance Purchase Cost Support Project’ website.

2. Go to ‘Menu > Business Application’ at the top right of the main screen.
As shown in the menu of the Business Registration Office, you can proceed with ‘subject confirmation, account registration, and business application’ in order.

How to apply for Class 1 refund
3. First, check if the applicant is eligible.
In the welfare category, select yourself and household members, and enter the name and resident registration number of the head of household.
Even if the applicant is not the head of the household, the target household can be confirmed only when the applicant is entered as the head of household in the subject confirmation.

4. Register the account number to be refunded.
You can register your bank account through the account transfer agreement, but the account to be refunded must be the account number of the applicant, not the head of household.

5. If you have been confirmed as a target and have completed account registration, you can now apply for a refund.
If the head of household applies in person, it is processed through the application of the person eligible for welfare discount.
If a family member other than the head of household applies, the application can be made through the application of a household member. (Family relationship certificate required)

6. If you agree to the personal information collection and agreement, the application page will appear.

7. Enter the applicant’s name, phone number and address.
8. Enter the purchase purpose. (new purchase/existing product replacement)
9. If the application is for a household member other than the head of household, enter the relationship with the applicant and attach a certificate of family relationship (a certified copy).
10. Enter the purchase information specified in the transaction statement.

11. Enter the purchase amount, expected support amount, and purchase date.
Since the support limit is 300,000 won, you can only refund up to 300,000 won for home appliances worth 3 million won or more, and the purchase amount must be entered as the final payment amount excluding points and discounts.
Only products purchased on or after April 23, 2021 are eligible for support.
12. Attach the submitted documents.

13. After confirming the contracted account number, click Apply to complete the application, and a text message confirming the completion will be sent.

Although the procedure and attached documents are a bit cumbersome, it is an opportunity to receive a refund of up to 300,000 won, so I hope that those who are eligible will apply and get a refund before the budget is exhausted.
